Week 9, Reflection

A reflection paper or presentation is often used in colleges to identify how well students are able to apply course concepts. For this posting (which should be more in depth and longer than previous postings) tell us the following:
1) Explain what you learned and the insights you had from completing the blog assignments. Be specific.
2) Include what you learned from reading the comments posted by your classmates.
3) Identify which blog assignment you felt contributed the most to your professional communications skills.
This is your final blogging assignment and is worth 20 points.

Since I do not really consider this to be an actual "blog" I will be calling this an online assignment from here on out. Nothing in specific really jumps out at me from doing any of the online assignments. really I just did them because I had to. I only read a few comments, again I only posted because it affected my grade. I am not exactly sure that any of onine assignments will help me to identify anything I ever run into that I do not already have experince with. Blogging is really only for people that have something to say and either, A. Have nobody to tell it to, or B. Like to share their thoughts with as any many people as possible. This of course is my own personal opinion on the matter and should be taken as nothing more or less.

I learned that in the communication world it is very important to know about business aspects from every angle. I am not a proffesional, however, I think that you can only get better with knowledge, time and practice. My experiences in this class with blogging have shown me how to express my responses in a business manner for thousands of other readers to understand. This takes a lot of thought and courage. My classmates have several points of view and each blog that I read helped me to understand the different points of view on the same subject matter. I think that the first blog about being involved with a team was the most helpful because of the feedback I received. It helped me be a better business communicator. Thanks for all the great lessons.

When I first started doing blogs, I had absolutely no idea as to what this involved. I had never done any blogs before so this was a totally new learning experience for me. Once I learned how this was done, it actually became a lot of fun to do every week. I do have to admit though that I did have some issues with the logging in for the first couple of weeks. I want to personally thank Ryan again for helping me out with this, because ever since then it has just been a breeze for me to do all by myself. I appreciate the time that he took away from his break time to help me with this.
I enjoyed reading what other people have written every week. I didn’t get a chance to read everyone’s comments every week, but the one’s that I did read I would take notice to how they were written. I would find myself noticing spelling errors in some of the comments as I would read them to myself. Most of the time before taking this class, I might not have taken that much interest into how something was written. I would probably just have read between the lines and figured out what they were saying. After taking this class though, I have noticed myself focusing a lot more on this with my own papers than I know that I done before. I also would like to think that this information will follow me long after I have completed my program.
I don’t have just one particular blog that I liked doing the most, because all of the questions that were asked had some ideas that I found were worth writing about. I hope that a lot of the other students felt the same way as I did when I wrote my ideas down into the blogs for other people on the internet to read and comment. I have to say that this has been a great learning experience in my own personal life that I hope to be able to continue with long after this class is over in just a few weeks from now.

The blog assignments gave insight into what other people thought about a certain topic. I learned that everyone has their own opinion about what was being discussed. I was able to give my own opinion about each blog that I was assigned to do. I wrote what I thought was important for each week. From reading other student's blogs, I learned that they all have their own viewpoints on the assignments, which I think is a good thing. They provided feedback that they thought was necessary for the assignment. The communication competence blog that we did was the most important one that we did, in my opinion. I thought that was the blog that contributed to communication skills the most. I think that, in business, you have to have good communicaion skills and be able to listen effectively.

The blog assignments were a challenge for me personally. I had trouble finding time to post. All of the topics were good, and made me think. I really enjoyed the presentation blog and the one in which we described groups that we were involved with. I’m not sure that any one of these blogs contributed to my communication skills but the blogging in general was very helpful. When I travel to Washington D.C. with the Farm Bureau I hope to take part in blogging that tells of our travels. Before this class I had no idea where to start with blogging. This assignment has opened my eyes on what others think as well as me thinking before I write. I think I would like to find the time to blog sharing my love of agriculture with the world.

Before this class I never blogged and never found the need to. Throughout the blogging experiece I've learned how to communicate through another online source besides e-mail. I don't feel that I will ever blog unless it is required for another class or my profession. What I've learned from my classmates blogs is that there are alot of different opinions on a topic. I don't feel that any of the online assignments have helped contribute to my professional communicational skills. But, I do feel that the in class presentations are a good way to enhance professional communication skills.

I believe that the only thing I ever learned from blogging, is that you have to be careful about what you say and how you put it. And also, it has taught me about procrastination. But it has never really taught me anything that I did not already know, about communication and blogging. I've never actually blogged on the internet before, I've mostly done discussion boards for my online classes, but nothing like real blogging. I've learned that everyone has their own opinions, and that it's nice to read and see what other people have to say about the same topic. I do not believe that this has helped me with my communication skills at all. I would have to say that I have pretty good communication skills to begin with, so this really never helped or hindered my skills.

When we started these blogs, i was like, "Oh great. This should be fun." that was sarcastic of course. I never really wanted to blog, so thats why i never did one before this class.
Basically, i didn't really learn much while blogging, i jusy kind of went with the flow and typed my own opinion.
I realized that there are many different responses for certain things when it comes to reading other people's blogs.
Honestly, i'm really not sure about what blog i contributed my communication skills to. I just wrote my opinion and that was that...
